Zim's stood as a San Francisco institution from 1947 through the early 1990s, anchoring corners on Geary, Market, and Lombard. Those broiled hamburgers and hot apple pie fed generations of city workers, late-night wanderers, and families heading north on Highway 101 through Corte Madera. Some restaurants become landmarks not by trying, but by simply always being there. Part of our Vintage Restaurant collection, celebrating the classic American menus of yesteryear.
